Finally ditching the weight of the Mystic Valley Band, Connor Oberst returns under the Bright Eyes moniker with a new album The People's Key off Saddle Creek. "Shell Games" is our first preview of the album- a strong, catchy, straight forward rocker with all the angst you'd expect from Bright Eyes ("I'm still angry with no reason to be"). Download the song from the widget below (thought we'd help out ole' Saddle Creek). Bright Eyes - "Shell Games" more at elbo.ws

more at timeoutchicago.com You have to wonder if it is hard to be Conor Oberst sometimes. Critically acclaimed in the early 2000s, your once unbelievably precocious music now sounds neither especially mature nor youth-embracing and likeminded indie acts have taken your sprawling, emotionally elevated sound higher in the charts.
