Pilot Speed (formerly known as Pilate) is a Canadian rock band that formed in 1999 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band is made up of: Todd Clark – Vocals, Ruby Bumrah – Bass, Chris Greenough – Guitar, Bill Keeley – Drums The quartet’s debut EP was released in 2001 which gathered attention from MapleMusic Recordings who later signed them. Their two full length albums Caught By The Window and Sell Control for Life’s Speed have since been released on MapleMusic Recordings in 2002 and 2006, respectively. Their latest album, Into The West, was released in the U.S. in September 2006. Their hit single, "Barley Listening" was released as an iTunes Single of the Week, leading to widespread recognition in the United States On June 26 2006 the band posted a message on their site stating that, due to legal restrictions, they decided to change their band name before it incited lawsuits from companies outside Canada.
