- Roots-rock-funk-reggae band Fenton CoolFoot & the Right Time makes its Ashkenaz debut with a fast-paced blend of what brings instant happiness to dancers’ feet. Singer and lead guitarist Gardner Goetze, formerly of Big Tings, says his idea for Fenton CoolFoot came during a ride through the Italian countryside on a tour bus with Steel Pulse: to put on an animated, funk-soul-reggae-rock show that creates borderless live music theater. It’s a sound he calls “funk steady,” pulling from reggae dub bottom to Funkadelic grooves. Goetze draws on his years of experience playing in many bands familiar to Ashkenaz dancers, including Big Tings, the Clean-up Party Band, Mystic Man & Lakay, and the High Lonesome Sound System. Goetze is joined by drummer-percussionist Dan Stilwell and bass player Elliot Racine, along with an assortment of special guests from other local bands. http://www.reverbnation.com/fentoncoolfoot
