SATURDAY JULY 21–THURSDAY JULY 26 The 32nd annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival The very first and still largest Jewish film festival in the world proudly celebrates its 32nd Anniversary. This year’s festival presents a record breaking program of over 60 films from 17 countries. Celebrating the very best in independent Jewish cinema and featuring a wide spectrum of film topics this year’s SFJFF also includes stimulating in-depth discussions, international guests and rousing special events and parties that highlight 5772 years of culture. With over a full week at the Castro and over 30 films, we spotlight Jews and Music with several live performances accompanying the films: Also join us as we honor Elliott Gould with the 2012 Freedom of Expression Award. Famous for his work on M*A*S*H, The Long Goodbye, Ocean’s Eleven, and American History X, Gould stars in this year’s SFJFF’s Dorfman. Make sure to catch him for his on-stage interview at The Castro before the screening. Closing Night film A.K.A. Doc Pomus is followed by local up and coming artists’ renditions of American Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and iconic songwriter Doc Pomus tracks. Experience the passionate storytelling, moving images and courageous spirit of independent Jewish cinema in a vibrant contemporary celebration of Jewish culture. The festival runs July 19-August 6 with venues in San Francisco, Berkeley, Palo Alto, San Rafael, and two new Oakland locations.
