Two local SF post-rock/experimental groups, Adventure Playground and
Froadz, will be playing at El Rio on July 23rd alongside the touring
indie/post-rock LA group Hearts & Minutes. The show begins at 8 PM
and the door will be $5 to support the touring band.
Adventure Playground has been around the East Bay and San Francisco for a few years now, playing a mixture of math & post-rock. Their influences vary from Tera Melos to Deftones to At the Drive-in.
Hearts & Minutes is originally from the Bay Area and Portland with members of We're From Japan!. They just released their second full-length album, No Exit. The album utilizes the sounds of violins, electric guitars, keyboard, bass, vocals, and drums to create wonderful textures that will stick with you.
Froadz is a new post-rock trio out of San Francisco - they offer intense crescendos and textures using reverby finger-plucked electric guitar, falsetto vocals, bass and drums. The group's early material and sound has been compared by some to early 90s indie rock such as Christie Front Drive. - Artists
