- MIKE DAYAO Acoustic Mike D. is originally born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. After many years of jamming throughout his high school & college years, it wasn't until Mike D. got hooked up with incredible musicians that eventually began as the group Kapakahi. After gaining a loyal following and keeping to it's independent roots, Kapakahi was able to share the stage with UB40, Blondie, Ozomatli, Jake Shimabukuro, Kalapana, Natural Vibrations, Iration, the Aggrolites, Bag of Toys, Forrest Day, & many more. Today, Kapakahi has transformed into an easily accessible name called My Peoples. Mike D. is still the frontman/guitarist/songwriter of the group. His roots are still deep into the reggae rock island vibe with a mixture of funk, soul, and pop.
