Late Night Alumni are an US house group, consisting of Ryan Raddon, Finn Bjarnson, John Hancock and Becky Jean Williams. They are known for their mix of dance music with strings and soft trance vocals from lead singer Becky. In the Summer of 2003, Finn Bjarnson met Becky Jean William. Finn had discovered Becky’s voice on a local Christmas CD that he had produced a couple of tracks for and a couple of phone calls later they were in the studio together for the first time. Finn had already worked with Ryan Raddon before and the three of them soon decided to work together as Late Night Alumni. Hed Kandi then made an offer to license and release a full length album, however they thought they were not yet ready – they needed a producer, who came in the form of local talent John Hancock. The debut album ‘Empty Streets’ was released in 2005, it mixed the electric and organic elements to create chilled out down tempo house music. Unfortunately at this time Hed Kandi was also bought out by Ministry of Sound and so the record was shelved. Due to this it became an underground classic. The single of the same name received huge support on the radio and in night clubs. It reached the Top Ten Radio Play chart in the UK and US as well as reaching number 1 in Spain. The follow-up album was not released until 2009, called ‘Of Birds, Bees, Butterflies, Etc’. Their first single from the album was ‘You Can Be The One’ which was released on Beatport & iTunes. In 2011 their third album was released, titled ‘Haunted’. The album was inspired by ideas of being haunted by nostalgia. Three of the tracks were released and singles and were all well received by their fans. In 2011, the Late Night Alumni tracks ‘Uncharted’ and ‘You Can Be The One’ were used in the Steve Carell film ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’.
